Inspired by the river it was named for, the design for Rio Tinto is infused with a dynamic energy, fostering a subtle yet profound connection to the natural world through its earthy tones.
The design beautifully integrates indigenous elements like jaali work, terrazzo countertops, and hand-woven carpets from traditional artisan communities in Bhadohi to evoke an Indian flavour. The space resonates with local culture from artisans in Agra and Moradabad by using Indian natural stones, local handmade tiles, and patterns inspired by arts like ‘Ikkat’ and ‘Bandhani’, adding a touch of regional craftsmanship.
Material selection was carefully aligned with the client’s dedication to fostering a socially responsible environment. Muted sustainable materials conveyed the ethos of a harmonious office setting.
Thoughtful color choices helped enhance the brand identity, fostering a feeling of inclusion within the design. Incorporating resilient materials subtly embodies the organisation’s strength and determination, while ensuring that every choice reflected their commitment to sustainability and ethical practices.
